After the busy festive season we have decided to have a quiet January. This will also provide an opportunity for your wallets and bodies to recover after the December festivities, Christmas and the holidays. The Club would like to wish you a very happy and prosperous 2012.
Based on demand and because it is the month of love we will be hosting another Salsa evening on Tuesday 14 February. This will be a perfect opportunity for yourself and your partner/ hubby to spend some romantic time together learning some seductive and sultry moves. No dancing experience is required, the aim is just to have fun and let go. This will be a Red Hot Salsa evening, in keeping with the theme we would like to encourage you to wear something red. There will be a shooter at the door for couples complying. Join us at 18h30 for 19h00; the lesson will commence around 19h30. The cost per couple is R100. Now that your brain is back in working mode, we thought we would put you to the test with a Quiz Evening. The Club hasn’t had one of these for a while and we would like to introduce the evenings as part of our event line-up for 2012. The Quiz Evenings will also see the return of our original Quiz Master – Geoff Hobson.
Team bookings are encouraged as more heads together are likely to produce better results. The cost per person will be R60 and this includes dinner.
There is a trophy up for grabs for the winning team and a free round of drinks on the house.

The Easter Bunny will be visiting Umhlali early. Join us on Easter Friday at 10h00 to search for some eggs left behind by the bunny. If you would like to bring your family along please put your name down at reception, along with the number of kiddies that will be attending so we can cater accordingly. The Easter hunt is open to estate home owners, residents and Club members only.
Et Voila will be offering lunch on Easter Sunday. A menu will be available closer to the time to allow for bookings.
There will be a Wine tasting Evening during the last week of April. Please check the website and newsletters for more information relating to this event.
Golf - 2012 League
Entries for the 2012 League (Allerton & Central) have opened.
Should you be interested in playing entry forms are available from the Proshop. Entries will close towards the end of January for League commencement in February.
The Allerton League 2011 was won by Umhlali Country Club B Division and this has moved them up into the A Division. The last time the League was won by Umhlali was in 1989.
Umhlali Country Club would like to extend their thanks to Neville Kalil (Origin Aluminium) for his generous sponsorship towards the Umhlali team playing in the League.
Entries for the Betterball Knockout, Ladies, Gents and Mixed are also open.
